    Since everyone and their brother will likely do "Ding Hao!" I decided to do the 309 Squadron Mustang III. I also liked it as a choice since I never had a P-51B/Mustang III with the dorsal fin extension.

    It's a really nice kit, the best P-51B in any scale right now. The interior is a tight fit for everything and I did some "1/48 scale" pushing and shoving to get everything in right. It was worth the effort, since there is no filler anywhere on the model. I had to sand down the wing fillet on the fuselage to get it to fit inside the wing sub-assembly, but that was the biggest problem encountered.

    I will do the Malcolm hood closed, which is the way a P-51B with a Malcolm hood looks best - and the clear plastic is so clear and thin that there's no problem seeing what's inside.

    Hard to believe it is "only" 1/72, my friend @tcinla!...which clearly shows how much the hobby has advanced.
    Superb result so far!

    Great start, Tom @tcinla
    The interior looks superb and does indeed look bigger than 1/72.

    I like how you painted main gear bays! Did you use some masks? And if you write about no filler I like this kit more 🙂

    @tcinla I'm curious, about quality of decals in this kit

    @lis - Arma's decals are good.
