Well it's taken a while, and I must admit I've done a lot more than I initially intended, but I'd like to announce that the masks designed for the Airfix 1/48 Avro Anson are now available in the "Canopy masks" section of this website: http://www.scalemodelpaintmasks.com. All the items have been trial fitted, adapted where necessary and now fit to my satisfaction and I hope yours too, however if you come across any issues please feel free to get back to me! If you have already downloaded an earlier version, please delete that from your files and upload the latest version.

    All the best

    Max

Thanks a lot for sharing, Max @maxw
May I ask what kind of sticker paper you use to cut out these masks.

Yes John @johnb, it's called Oramask 810. You can get various grades and thicknesses of Oramask but this is the recognised grade for cutting aircraft masks.

@maxw, thanks for sharing, Max. Now I only need to convince my wife that I need this cutter.

I'm glad that you said "need" rather than "want" John! Funnily enough I bought "my" Silhouette for my wife, she makes greetings cards. The Silhouette comes with a library of shapes, letters and images that can be used and cut from card, or more excitingly, she can design her own. I rather use it more than her though for some odd reason.

Masks look great, Max (@maxw). I signed up for the paintmasks site. The info there is almost overwhelming. It is hard to digest all of the info, so it will take a while to prioritize the info. I have cut masks for markings, but doing canopy masks is still like magic. Well done.

“Magic” in my book = a lot of careful measuring + a lot of trial and error George, but experience and practice as always helps speed the process up. Glad that you’ve joined, I hope you continue to find the site useful and good luck with your “adventures”. Any questions, just ask.

Thanks, Max (@maxw). So far, one step forward and one step back. Like everything else, it is just jumping in and gaining experience.
