This is the Hobby Boss 1/48 Bv-141. It might be the most accurate Hobby Boss kit. This disturbs me a little. It is not without it's flaws, as the Valiant Wings book on the subject highlights. But they are easily fixed. Interior stuff and exhaust placement. The basic package is there, and it's much better than what came before.

I need help, however, with a new propeller. Sources indicate a spare from an FW-190 A-8, or really any broad German prop with the angled tips would be great, one that looks like the image I included.

If someone would be willing to help me out with this prop, that would be great. I have a huge store of junk models and spares, if you are looking for a piece in exchange.

Wait till you mask that puppy - ask me how I know.

I have long made close friends with Montex and Eduard for that sole reason. In my younger days I would have stubbornly cut them myself, but you know.

The interior of this build looks fantastic, Kyle @kopperhed
The masks will definitely be very helpful.
I will check my spare box as soon as I return from holiday to see if I can help you.

Though almost sure I have no such prop, I will also have a look at my spares, @kopperhed.
Your build looks super so far!

Kyle, let me have a look around my spare box later today. I have so many left overs from Eduards 190s that it’s very likely I might have what you need. I’ll send you a pm later on

Splendid build. I'm sure the prop will surface from one of our friends here, and with a readymade masking kit it will be a breese to mask this gem, albeit a long one 🙂

Thank you, my friends. Prop or not I appreciate the kind gestures.

Nice work; I really like the work that you have done inside the cockpit.

The unusual aerodynamics on the BV-141 are quite interesting, but I believe this was too much for some to live with, hence there was another: the BV-142

The masks are on after an afternoon's work. One advantage to my job is I have some time to read, or as I found out, work on models. No glue allowed there (no flammables) but I can get things done like masking or sanding during down time.

The prop and cowl remain a problem. I found a set that had cowl rings, Cutting Edge set for the Pro Modeler 48 Dornier 217 E-5 (which would allowed me to get correct props for my Dornier!) but this remains out of production and unattainable (if anyone has this set I will gladly buy it off you).

So at this point I think i say screw it. I tried tightening the kit cowl ring opening with some Evergreen. It's still not great but I want to move on. The hunt for the prop continues.

Masking and modified cowling looks great, Kyle @kopperhead
Modelling during worktime, that sounds great.
Might ask my boss if I can get some time for modelling, but I 'm affraid I know the answer already.

Looking great, Kyle (@kopperhed). All of the masking on this is daunting. Have you looked at any of the resin aftermarket sources for a replacement prop? I am retired, so my boss usually lets me work on models during the day. :o)

Work on the canopy is simply stunning!

Very keen to see how you go with this Kyle (@kopperhed) !
It's looking great so far. I have one in my "stash" but can't source the masks without going international, so am waiting... Would love to find the discontinued Eduard upgrades as well. What did you use for your interior details?

A mix of waldron placards, scratch from wire, and the PE fret from the Hi-PM kit i won't mention again. The coolest thing to add was the line from the roof to floor the pilot used to aim with.
