Maybe AM's initial releases featured compromised plastic, my friend @holzhamer

Looks great, Spiros (@fiveten). I like your high-tech gluing support. John (@johnb), your cockpit is coming along nicely. Interesting problem with the plastic, Pedro (@holzhamer). Perhaps the hardness of the plastic has changed in the many years since it was manufactured. I once built a really old Italeri kit whose plastic had become so hard that I almost couldn't cut it with a hobby knife. The plastic was also resistant to glue. I have seen this problem a couple of times with kits that I got on consignment at my local hobby store. I have thought that perhaps the kits were stored somewhere that the temperature is not controlled and the temperature variations changed the plastic.

That’s a very interesting insight George, and quite probably spot on. Thanks mate!

As advised by Tom @tcinla, the upperwing parts were glued to the fuselage at first.

Let's see how the center surface part containing the cockpit will fit inside.
