@gblair, Your Stormovik came out wonderful. A lot of effort put into this one, but it surely paid off. Great pictures on the headlines.
I was aware of the existance of those strengthen ribs from Quinta, they look amazing but a bit too pricey, however, I made good use of their pictures to scratch build mine.

@gblair despite the difficulties at the end, it turned out great! Looking forward to the headline article! I guess I'll have to step up building mine, now 😀

Thanks, John (@johnb), Spiros (@fiveten), and Sebastijan (@inflames). I wasn't sure I would like doing a group build like this, but it has been a real pleasure working with you all. I has also been a great learning experience as we all tackled similar problems in our kits, regardless of the manufacturer. Cheers.

I guess it's up to me now, to carry the Il-2 torch forward 😀

Before assembling the wings together, so I could continue riveting the bottom of them, I had to assemble the landing gear boxes. Weathered a bit with different brown washes to give them a little bit of depth.

@johnb hehe I'll be away for some holidays next week as well so... 😀 But I just hope I'll be able to prepare her for primer by then. But with my daughter's birthday coming up and preparation for the party, I'll be pretty much tied up, I'm affraid.

@inflames, congratulations, Sebastijan. Preparing your daughter's birthday has priority over all other acitivities.

After another round of filling and grinding, the results look acceptable to me and a last layer of primer was added.
Next I pre-shaded the panel lines.

A first round of the bottom surface camouflage was applied as well.
To me the panel lines look too prominent so a second thin layer will be needed.

Looking super, my friend @johnb! A second layer will tone the panel lines exactly right.
