    Final step prior to holiday.
I did another round on the lower surface to reduce the visibility of the panel lines.
This time including the rocket rails as well, forgot to mount them for the first round.

Looks perfect, John (@johnb). The shadowing looks just right. I painted the rocket rails separately, and added them after I sprayed the thin layer of black over everything. I was worried that an overall black would be too monotone. As it turned out, you can't see the rails when the plane is sitting on its feet anyway. The strengthening ribs on the rear of the plane are really noticeable with the light blue added. They were well worth the time it took to add them.

Completely understand the pause in the build, Sebastijan (@inflames). When our granddaughter had her second birthday last week, we dropped everything to enjoy the event with her. Family comes first. Of course, you could trim some of that time you waste sleeping and do some more modeling. :o) Enjoy the birthday!

Much better after the second layer, John!
I've spent so much energy yesterday, preparing things for today, that I had to blow off some steam when the kid fell asleep 😀

Some MrSurfacer 1500 black action, as the fuselage to wings fit wasn't the best and I am trying to blend them in as best as I can.

Go for it, my friend @inflames! I also find myself in need for blowing off steam quite often!

@gblair, thank you, George. To be honest, the reinforcement ribs did turn out nicer than I thought at first.

@inflames, thanks, Sebastijan. Modelling is very helpful to find some rest again. I should definitely use those kind of masks like yours more often. With acrylics however, I usualy spray without mask and ventilation. Indeed, not too smart.

    @fiveten, thank you, Spiros

I haven't felt the need to wear a mask since I started using acrylics, @inflames and @johnb. I always use a paint booth which pulls any fumes away from me. I cobbled together a new paint booth for our new house using parts I got from Amazon. It doesn't have an exhaust to the outside, but it has two larger filters that pull everything out of the air before it comes back into the room. So far, it has worked great. Anything I do with spray cans gets done in the garage. Hope your daughter had a great birthday.

Finally some progress on the Il2 after holiday.
The intention is to provide a winter scheme, but first the summer scheme, black and green, had to be applied.
With the outcome of the summer scheme, I do doubt to apply the winter color. Currently it looks fine to me and I'm a bit affraid that the winter scheme might ruin it.

The summer scheme looks superb, my friend @johnb! It is true that the winter white on top ot it will provide some roughness and unevenness, which would be the real case nevertheless! The choice is up to you really...

This is a the winter camouflage that I am aiming for.

It can be found on the website of Massimo Tessitori as already indicated earlier by George @gblair
A lot of interesting profiles and pictures can be found there.
My idea is to use a very thin mixture of white and thinner.
If someone knows a better idea, I am fully open to that.

If you thin your white too much, I am not sure if it will perform well (drippings and the like) my friend @johnb! In such case, your already superb "base" camo will be ruined. Maybe a just thinned white paint sprayed carefully thinly might do the trick.

John (@johnb), you might try some Washable White Paint by Mig. It supposedly works just like the temporary paint during WW2, so that you can paint something and then scrub off parts to look worn. I haven't tried it, but it is on my list.
