Great result so far, my friend @michaelt!
And the usual solid Tamiya engineering.

I should have added that the fuselage centreline required a little work under the tail and along the upper fuselage.
Unfortunately, the moulded on light on the top rear fuselage didn't survive so I'll drill a hole and add a thin piece of shaped clear sprue later on.

Very nice holiday pictures, Michael @michaelt, definitely worth the travel.
Great progress on the Stormovik, take care for those barrels.

Nice progress Michael - looking a lot more like a plane now.

All good things come to an end and so did my holiday. But hey, with batteries recharged, it's time for some work on the Il-2. Working a little bit over the weekend, I can say I am mostly finished with the the undersides.

Looks terrific, Sebastijan (@inflames). The weathering and streaking look perfect. I like the oil leaks under the engine. Well done.

Spiros , George and John , thank you very much for your kind words. Painting and weathering are two of my favorite aspects of model building and I tend to experiment a little bit on every kit in this regard. After the Wildcat and Dauntless, where I had to restrain my weathering ambitions a little bit, this flying tank is a perfect choice to incorporate a little more drastic weathering styles, considering they operated from austere airfields and harsh weather conditions. And it is a surprisingly large aircraft as well - I've been lucky to see them at several European museums and the one flying at MAKS in 2019 and it's a hell of a big canvas to play with.

A little too late for this build, but interesting reading and plenty of fascinating projects sparking future model ideas.

Looks like a very interesting book, Sebastijan @inflames.

I've only had some time to browse it through but it is an interesting insight into the development of ground attack aircraft from the early days of Imperial Russia, to the second world war and until present time, including the operational aircraft as well as numerous X-projects that never reached beyond paper stage. So much potential for scratchbuilt projects or even 3D printing projects, if I'll ever master the 3D design phase.

This looks like a great resource, Sebastijan (@inflames). I always seem to find these great resources at the end of a build, but, like you said, plenty more ideas are in the book.
