@fiveten- you should have added the upper halves of the wing before proceeding! At least do it now before going further.

Yep, that was my exact plan, my friend @tcinla! In fact, I would nevertheless follow your advice (but slightly modifying it), attaching the upper halves with attention paid to gap-free roots, then attach the lower halves, leaving them "blending" nicely (having removed the locator pins beforehand). Hope it works 🙂 The cowling looks like it will be tiny tad narrower than the fuselage when assembled, so I might have to figure out a way to counteract this if it happens (tad tricky, as it in includes the distinctive inner-fitting cowling "top").

In order to minimize the risk of cowling-to-fuselage mismatch, the cowling was not assembled separately, but was practically "built up" as a forward extension of the fuselage, paying attention to the relative joints. Here is the result...

Then it will be wings buildup, following @tcinla 's advice (better late than never 🙂 ) of attaching the top halves first, then "blend in" the lower halves.

    Thanks for stopping by!

Looks like you are getting this all figured out, Spiros (@fiveten). By the time I get to mine you will have all tricky areas smoothed out.

Thanks my friend @gblair! It is true that construction is not among the most untricky ones, but if you follow @tcinla 's advice you will have a smooth ride.

And here she is with wings and horizontal stabilizers attached...

No big drama anywhere, just a few gaps (the usual case for me, I even create gaps upon building a 1/48 Tamiya Spit... 🙂 ). Take my word and follow @tcinla 's advice to the letter, regarding wings' attachment!
I also droopped the elevators for some dynamic looks.
    Thanks for stopping by!

    Solid progress, Spiros @fiveten.
You really have found the pace again.
For sure I will follow Tom's @tcinla advise.

Thanks my friend @johnb! Yep, too much filling and sanding on the Seahawk caused a slump, but looks like sniffing extra thin glue brought things back to normal 🙂

Wow that fast Spiros! I wish I could start my own already. Are you going with the supplied decals for the Leningrad marked bird flown by 2HSU decorated pilot Vasiliy Mykhlik?

@fiveten - the wing looks good.

Thanks my friend @inflames! Yes, the box art scheme is the one I am going to go for.

    Bays added...

... prop assembled and exhausts drilled out for extra realism...

    Very nice progress, Spiros @fiveten
The exhausts do look much like this.

Made a start on mine as well.
Simply cut out the first parts and did a bit of cleaning on them for the interior color.
I was surprised to see that the armor backplate for the seat was transparant.
Only two small regions will be used for backside view of the pilot and had to be masked.
