The white tail really contrasts nicely with the camo, Michael (@michaelt).

    Almost finished now.
I just need to add the rear gunner canopy, radio wire and paint and fit the ordinance.
Unfortunately I made a mistake in adding the front canopy masks and then gluing it to the fuselage.
The glue marred the forward and starboard quarter windscreens.
I've managed to fix some of it, but it is still quite apparent on the starboard quarter windscreen.

Looks great, my friend @michaelt! The traces of glue on the transparencies are hardly noticeable.

To me the glue remains are barely visible as well.

@michaelt, those gluemarks are surely moisture from the temperature changes in the weather? 🙂

That could be claimed to be something that is a part of the weathering!

    G'day Spiros (@fiveten), John (@johnb) and Erik (@airbum),
The photos don't show the full effect of the glue marks.
Erik, I was thinking of adding a little 'dust' to try and hide as much as I can.

At today's meeting it was decided to put the due date for this back to March next year - we have two other competitions due next month.
So, I have a bit of time to decide if there is anything else I can do to fix it.

The glue marks really aren't that noticeable in the photos, Michael (@michaelt). I had something very similar happen before, and I managed to somewhat fix it. I first used a little alcohol on a cotton swab to clean it. You have to be careful because alcohol will remove acrylic paint. Then I used a brush to apply some stuff from Deluxe Materials called "Just Like Glass". This stuff is similar to Future, which would work also. It really seems to make glue problems less noticeable.

    G'day George (@gblair),
Thanks for the tip - "Looks like Glass"?
I've found it on line on a local website and might see if one of the local hobby shops carries it.

Been awhile since I got to the point of the build you see in these pics, but been lazy actually take the pictures, which I did just now.

The cockpit is done (minus the gunsight glass), fuselage assembled, wheel wells spruce up with some PE walls and painted.

Now these were a bit tricky to place on proper place since Eduards PE instructions were as vague as you can get. All that and just the exterior walls need some adjustments, since I found out they interfere with getting the lower wings assembled in a tight fight. Not too serious thank god.

As soon as the whole plane is ready to paint I’ll do an update. Thanks for watching, this mini group really as some fabulous Shturmoviks made so far 😉

Sometimes one has to decide where to use the time available, and it would seem like a good idea to build rather than taking pictures and updating when time does not permit both - but I am very happy to see the results now that you've found the time to share Pedro! Your time has been used well - it looks great with superb paintwork.

    Fantastic result, Pedro @holzhamer
You definitely spent your time well.
Amazing to see how you did paint those small details.

Thank you for the feedback my friends. John, don’t want to sound pedantic, but the poor quality of my photos does little justice to how good the plastic parts and the Quinta studio bits are. I’m amazed that a kit that’s over 2 decades has such nice details in it. The fit on the other hand, and as you know by experience, isn’t stellar, and a bit over engineered imo.

Interior looks great, Pedro (@holzhamer). I have used a Quinta interior once and thought it looked amazing. The cockpit is so cramped in these planes that it would be difficult to get a good photo. I think your photos do great justice to your work.
