These were the parts I was most nervous about masking and painting. They ended coming out okay. I'll just hide all the masking goofs with the red trim. Hopefully it'll be on the gear tomorrow! (I'm going to make copies of the "City of Springfield" nose art and double it up. I've read some reviews where the decals aren't quite opaque enough.

These look good. What are you going to use for the breaker line?

If you mean the red trim I ended up painting them by hand. I was able to get the size down to about half of what it was on the wings and the fuselage, but widened them a little so they match. (Now that I've learned how to run a fine even line, I may do another one, although my R is waiting in the wings.) They are already installed and the flying wires are run. I did end up using the monofilament in the kit for the rudder cables. it was stiff enough to put in one side and find the hole on the other. I used stainless metalizer after they were glued down. Just a couple of decals on the cowl and prop (which had a lot of flash but cleaned up very nicely) and she's done! Unfortunately I won't be taking the photos today as it's foggy and I want to wait for sunset on a nice clear day. (I did take a few in the morning fog just for ambiance. I may include them in the photo set.)

The red trim was what I was referring to. Looks like you beat it. Waiting to see your full post.

It's done and a did tackle the red with some degree of success. I did have to touch up with yellow or black in areas where I made excursions from a straightish line! Now I just have to wait for a nice sunny evening for photos, as it's rainy here this afternoon.
