Hi Max @maxw, obviously the research is an enjoyable part of the build for you. Restored museum aircraft aren’t the only things that are not always original, it applies to cars, motor cycles, tanks, etc, that’s why period photographs are so important.

This looks like a great kit, Max (@maxw). I have never built an all-resin kit before, but I am looking forward to seeing yours done. The cockpit looks great.

The vital part of making a successful cockpit, especially a resin one where the warping of small bits is distinctly possible, is keeping everything as square as possible. Fortunately this one has worked out well!
Like most new things, resin can be tricky to begin with , but I’ve built several now and have many more lined up to do! Here’s a Hawker Fury which is nearly done.

Thanks John, this is the AlleyCat kit mastered by the same talented man who later formed Silver Wings! I have another of these beauties to build, this time with spats!

Fury looks great, Max (@maxw), but all of those rigging lines make my hands shake. I have a couple of 1/32 Alley Cat conversions that I hope to use sometimes in the near future. Well done.

Thanks John, such a beautiful aeroplane…..it would be difficult (& a travesty!) to make an ugly one!

Not a lot of time for modelling today...hedge cutting was a greater priority, however I did manage to get the trim wheel (I assume that's what it is) completed. I found a disc (I think from HK's Meteor kit wheels) which was the right size but solid so I spent a couple of hours cutting out some plastic! It's not perfect, but given the location and how much will be visible it's good enough. Once again, plaudits for Silver Wings for getting the framework size and position absolutely spot on! There's one other feature that I want to add to the cockpit, but I'm not too far from closing up. A couple more pics of some Gauntlets in tight formation:

You did an excellent job on the wheel, Max @maxw

It took a couple of hours John, I pondered for quite a while about the options for making one but this seemed the most straightforward. As I was hacking away it made me appreciate just how talented the craftsmen are who make the masters for kits such as these!

Congrats on having the patience to make your trim wheel, Max (@maxw). I don't think I would have been able to stick with it. I remember some really large trim wheels when I first started flying, and then I got to jets that had small trim buttons on the stick. Much better.

Had to be done George, though wasn’t sure I had chosen the best method at one point! One of the delights of flying Tiger Moths is, whilst you have plenty to keep an eye on, trim wheels isn’t one of them!

That trim wheel looks perfect Max @maxw, and I love those pictures.
