@johnb - in the future if you have "cannon karma" here is a solution: drill out the center of each segment of the broken part, then take some evergreen rod, glue it in one end, then glue to the other, flood both holes with glue. It will dry surprisingly strong. Yes, I learned this trick the hard way. 🙂

    Underside gray applied...

Now onto the dreaded identification/invasion stripes... 🙂
Any chance the 198 Sq "TP Q" was initially un-striped and had the stripes field applied "later on"?
I doubt it, since most Typhoons, apart from the early ones, had the stripes factory applied, in order for the Allied Forces not confusing them with FW-190s!
    Thanks for stopping by!

    Great airbrush work, Spiros @fiveten
Not sure about the stripes, but your assumption is the most likely.
Looking forward to them being applied.

@fiveten - The only ID stripes applied in the factory were the underwing 4 black/3 white stripes, like what John is doing on his cardoor Typhoon. The D-Day stripes were all "field applied." In fact you can find photos of some pretty "rugged" ones. The particular Typhoon you are doing survived to have only underwing and under fuselage stripes by the end of summer, and then lost the underwing stripes but kept the under fuselage stripes. So you do have some alternative here.

Indeed @tcinla 's info was invaluable (as usual).

Loving how the Tiffy(s) are coming along, makes me want to add one to the stash. I've built a Hurricane and a pair Tempests, so the collection is missing one of these nice car door Hawkers.

Great work on the camo, Spiros @fiveten
Patafix is perfect for these camo patterns.
I'm surprised that you are able to paint without masking the grey areas.
I usually mask those other areas to prevent it from being oversprayed, seems like my airbrush experience is not sufficient.
