    @tcinla, @fiveten, @holzhamer, @gblair, thanks for the nice words,

    The idea is to paint the ID stripes, which will look better than by using decals to my opinion. I will temporarely mount the landing gear covers, using a piece of patafix to keep them in place. To my understanding, first the black color should be applied and later on the white stripes.

    ID stripes

    Hasegawa provided black stripe decals to create the invasion markings. They look nice but likely you will be able to see the difference between real paint and the 'shiny' decals. During my early modelling years, many decades ago, these decals were used because it was easy and quick. This time the markings will be painted, starting with the black color first. Wheel covers are temporarely fixed with patafix.

    During the mount of the wheel covers, accidently some primer got scratched and left marks of the underneath silver spray used for the wheel wells, seems like I found my way to create chipping.

    Black done, white to go

    The black paint was applied this morning and after some dry time, goes pretty quickly with acrylics, the masking for the white lines was done. Exactly like mentioned by Tom, @tcinla, 24 inches (60 cm) for white and 12 inches (30 cm) for black. Let's see how the white will turn out.

    @fiveten, @lis, thanks and ... the white is here

    White is there as well

    A very effective modelling day, mainly due to the bad weather.
    White is painted as well.

    Some bleeding occured but this can be easily corrected.
    Removing the rest of the masks however did remove also some of the paint, need to see how this can be corrected so that it will not be seen afterwards.

    Nice job on the stripes, John (@johnb). I was worried that the white would have trouble covering over the black, but it seems to have worked well. It drives me nuts to get to this late part of the build and have paint pull up with the masking. It always seems difficult to repair a chip so that it looks like it did before.

    @fiveten, thanks Spiros, always a pitty that you have to correct something which was already looking nice.

    @gblair, thank you George, I agree that repairing is not easy. It looked great before and next you have to repair it in such a way that it will look like before. Nevertheless, this build is still an enjoyable one.

    Fuselage band

    After a busy couple of days I finally found some time to work on the Typhoon.
    The areas where paint came of when removing the masks has been prepared for another paint session (no picture from that).
    I also applied the fuselage band in what to me seems like a good approach to the original color. The propellor is painted in the same color.

    @fiveten, thanks a lot.

    Repair shop
    Time to get the wingtips repaired where paint came of when removing the masks.
    I used simple Post-It (similar) to cover the black/white recognition bands.

    Correction work is done and looks nice, I will update a picture when has dryed.

    This is how the wingtips look like after the rescue.
