Your following along my build is so motivating!

Morne, this F-16 is the HAF solo display "ΖΕΥΣ" (ZEUS).

I have seen it many times performing amazing aerobatic displays.

I think it is (or, at least, was) the only solo display with conformal fuel tanks.

It is an event to remember and I adore its scheme, as well!

Wow, missed this one until now! This kit brings me good and fun memories since I had a commissioned build for a FAP (Portuguese AF) F-16 in the mid-nineties. And this was the model I chose and build. Your build pics bring the good and bad of the kit back to my memory. In the end I was pleased with the model, and so was the customer (believe or not it was a woman).

A few days ago I noticed this spectacular decal sheet... seems appropriate 😉

I have two different sheets: one "KALFAKIS" and one "ICARUS DECALS", equally excellent, made by Cartograf, sadly both of them OOP.

That cover most operational schemes, but not the beautiful "ΖΕΥΣ".

Yep, the kit has good and bad sides, would easily be regarded a "limited run" one today...

Amazing what we had to work with 30 years ago...

Next, the elevators and strakes will be added and onto the second filling/sanding loop.

Believe it or not, the most difficult part of the build is to unstick the model from my younger (Nikos, QC2, PFP) son's hands, so I can work with it...he is sleeping with it for the third evening now... 🙂

I attached the stabilators, the ventral strakes and the tip launchers:
1. Mmmmm, nice Falcon shape!
II will not attach the underwing pylons now, as the ghost scheme camo borders will interfere with them.

Good thing that this oldie of a kit's shape (which, to be fair, is a "legalized" copy of the late 80s venerable Hasegawa - yes, I know, there are all so many ways to make an F-16 kit...) captures the aesthetically dynamic Falcon looks!

By the way, upon camo researching, I found that the external surface ("paint ") of the Falcons has evolved through the years, incorporating kind of "rubber-ish" texture, in order to become stealthier. Well, it did became, but at the cost of quickly looking dirtier and darker. Also, this external coating sports some metallic powder, as to attract the EM and trap it with the rubberized paint, so this is why your see the later F-16 version camos kind of like shining...

Good thing for my camo, which depicts an early 90s plane, is that it's the old school one, nice, classic matt paint.
