Wondering if anyone has any suggestions on what would be the best way to place the national insignia on the Monogram SNJ-5c that I'm trying to finish. Looks like the decal has to go over/around the steps for the pilot and co pilot. The way I see it I have three options
    1) cut off the steps, apply the decal and paint accordingly
    2) carefully measure and try to cut openings in the decals
    3) apply massive amounts of microset/sol and hope for the best

Anybody have any suggestions or experience with this kit or similar issues? @j-healy you did great work on one like this in 2021- what did you do? @tcinla? @fiveten? others?

Hi David! Your SNJ looks great. I carefully sliced the steps off the model with a new #11 blade, applied the decal, reattached the steps with CA and painted them aluminum.

    I would also go with @j-healy 's approach, @dbutlr.

Sounds to me like the best approach and safest way as well, David @dbutlr
No harm will be done to the decal in that case.

I love all-yellow trainers, David Butler (@dbutlr). I don't think there is any chance that decal solutions will get the decal to conform over the steps. I think I would carefully cut off the steps, apply the decal, and then glue the steps back on. Good luck.
