Nice job, Yann (@yann). I have heard the same thing about Kinetic kits: some are great and some have some fit problems. Looks like nothing you can't handle.

Thanks a lot for your comments @johnb, @gblair, @fiveten.This week I started with the filler and grinding. That's really not my favorite stage on the build...

    Before sanding:

    After sanding:

And the surprise: a small hatch is gone on the starboard side of the nose at least I think it was there before. If so this one was moulded on the kit. Now I will try to have a close up picture of the real BD to check what was there... More details in the next episode...

Mystery solved. Actually it was'nt. I missed this detail before. But this kind of 'hole' is wel present on the actual aircraft.

Filler is a necessary evil, but looks like it is going well, @yann. Looks good.

Agree with you that filling and grinding is not the nicest part of modelling, Yann @yann
However it does make the final build look much better.

Thanks a lot gents @johnb, @gblair, @fiveten, @chinesegeorge. I continued the kit with the ailerons and their activators kind of pilons underneath the wings. And they were not matching at all. Ok, nevermind, I will cut off the nib which were supposed to hold those flaps. And then appear a bit gap in between the pilon and the aileron (sorry no pics of those). Then my old good friend came to rescue me ''Tamiya filler''

Since there are a lot of details on this area, I decided to not sand the filler but straight after application to level it with acetone on a cotton wool.

Afterward some more antenna and air intakes

Eventually, it will be time for primer so first off: Masking the canopy and wind shield. I have to say those are matching pretty good.

Interesting progress, @yann. I never realized you could use acetone on a model. I always thought it would dissolve the plastic. I will have to tuck that idea into my tool kit.

Thanks indeed for that tip, Yann @yann
Not sure if it will work on acrylic putty as well, usualy I use plain water and cotton, but maybe aceton will perform better. Will definitely try your tip.

Thanks a lot guys. I tried this and it works pretty well on the putty. But on the other hand the plastic become a bit tarnished. I'm normally brush it with iron wool to get it clean. The acetone is vaporizing very quickly, that's why I'm just dipping my cotton stick and the leveling the putty. Moreover on this kit I tried on dried filler (abt 1 week) and it's still 'cleaning the excess of putty.

Wether using water or alcohol or acetone, a light and swift sweep does cut down on the sanding needed if not eliminating it completely. Nice trick.

Thanks a lot Erik @airbum. You are fully right the 'light and sift sweep' I think I was not so light on this Delta, we will see...
