Sealed up a couple of seams between the lower fuselage and intakes. I couldn't get these things to align evenly so I had to resort to a little Tamiya basic type putty. Painted the engine exhausts using 9 different metallic shades from AK and Alclad. Just need to paint red, violet and blue heat stains.

A few more WIP shots of my Kinetic Su-33. I had a little problem with the fuselage halves not coming together at the front end. I suspect the cockpit tube had something to do with it. Seems like everything fit when I dry fitted it, but that changed as soon as applied cement. I attached the nose, but since the fuse halves didn't meet up properly, the nose didn't sit properly. I patched that up with some Tamiya polyester putty that I'll sand and finish tomorrow. Have I mentioned the TERRIBLE instructions?

I think you briefly touched on the subject of the instructions at one point mate! It's looking good, can't wait to see the finished article.

It's certaily been a long time since I last posted any pics of this thing. I started this project in May of this year and have worked on it quite steadily, but I've not made much progress on it. I painted the hard line version of the camo using Mr Paint lacquers. They go on extremely thin and leave a very nice, smooth semi-gloss finish and are resistant to enamel washes. I'm very pleased with their performance. I used my Iwata HP-C+ for most of the final paint. I used Alclad metalics for the exhaust. I started using a Harder and Steenbeck Infinity for the pre-shading and was really disappointed in the results. It's not as nice as the Iwata and it tends to spatter and clog even with the larger needle. I'll probably get rid of it.

Very nice. Looking scarily reminiscent of the big 1/32 Flanker G I did a couple of months ago.

A few more WIP shots of the Su-33. I have been working on this thing steadily since May of this year. Progress has been slow because I really wanted to take my time with it. The tails, engines, canards and airbrake are all on temporarily so they may look a bit crooked. I may not have to give this thing a coat of gloss before I apply the decals because the MR Paint paints go on with a beautiful semi-gloss luster. Weathering was accomplished with panel line washes by Ammo of Mig.

George, this is fantastic work on a complex kit, and the camo scheme looks stunning. I'm following this with enjoyment.
