Starting to look suspiciously like an addiction 😀

    • well, after all I have confessed to be an 109aholic earlier. . .

    Yet another Spaniard

SBS-model and Buchonscalemodel beat me to it!

With the latest 1/32 addition there is yet another great conversion for 1/32 builders out there

It is made to fit the Eduard 1/32 109E kit, and from the pictures it is yet again a great conversion for the row of 109’s from the workshops of SBSmodel in cooperation with buchonscalemodels.

Dare I hope for a 1/48 version, or shall I have to get some more display-room?

Fingers crossed that there will be a 1/48 not only of this one, but also the Buchon in the near future

I would be surprised if there will be no quarterscale version in the future, so, I believe, your high hopes are on a solid basis, my friend @airbum!

I had been thinking of using a Tripalata conversion to make this one Spiros @fiveten, but right now I have quite enough going on. I have asked the manufacturer to send me a few kits in 1/48 should he ever consider making them. (I actually asked if he would make a set on the basis of the Tripalata last year, and it seems like he already were in progress with the 1/32 version by then).

ESK 2000 B German WWII Gun Camera

Yet another great AM kit for 109’s

CMK has issued a resin conversion for a 109E – well more an add-on than a conversion

It is available direct, but I guess any well-stocked LHS will have them or are able to get them.

It is indeed exciting times for 109aholics these days – it seems like the avalanche won’t stop

All that detailing, specifically on 109's, has improved enormously compared to when I started modelling 35 years ago.
Great to see those conversions getting better and better.

Wow, this is an intense project, Erik. How many kits do you actually have going at once? I see three early model 109s but seven props and also the Gustav. Anyway lots of fine detailing going on. I am planning to do a Hasegawa 32nd scale G-6 soon myself as well as the 32nd scale Cyber Hobby Emil. So many models, so little time. Thanks for the inspiration.

Thank you for all the comments people!

John @johnb, after returning to the hobby and being away fro some 30-odd years I think it is a fantastic bunch of kits and AM items you can choose from today.
Spiros @fiveten, I shall oreder a few of them, then find some kit to put them on 🙂
Colin @@coling, actually this is sort of a "kindergarten" and pop-up idea corner to my regular builds. I sometimes start a small batch before I know how to finish them, and with the basics in order it is a lot of fun to find out where to go from that. The 1/32nd segment is starting to pull. . . . (and yes, as I commented in your build I need a bigger house)

Having discovered that the Hasegawa 1/32 109's are a bit hard to find, I still have doubts about going into that scale.

Then there are some better news from Eduard in their newsletter this month:

The same ball of fun is produced
by the Bf 109, and is maybe even a little bit more
confusing, where we have twenty active molds, not
including the Emils. This number will grow by about
another ten over the year and the next few. This
will be brought about by the completion of the Avia
S-199 and CS-199, three versions of the two-seat
Bf 109G-12, and the Bf 109K-4.

that will be a treat, even though it puts some pressure on finishing my 109G12 build! Well, some gentle push now and then is bringing the various builds closer to completion, so that is OK.

What an "109" future for an "109" man, my friend @airbum!
And for all of us, too!

Indeed @fiveten - sadly that may be some less scratchbuilding too!? Naaahhhhh. . . .

    Prepping some Emil’s

Not starting another build, just some prepping

This thread is as explained earlier just to give a minor hint or whatever on the world of – mostly – 1/48 109’s. And as I have quite a few Tamiya 109E in my stash, I took the time today to start up on some preparing of the base kits for future use.

One thing that I like to do on these kits is the thinning of the upper edge of the cowl. In almost every photo you can find of an Emil there is a very small gap at the top

The simple solution is to thin the rear edge a lot, and perhaps just a few swipes of a fine sanding stick on the “nose” of the plane when it is assembled

A lot closer – still needs a bit of work, but as a preparation it will suffice.

I also started to open the intake to the cooling air for the spark plugs

It still needs a lot of work, but this is where I got to today

next up on this topic is anyones guess – perhaps some more on the Emils?
