I'm still working on the Aca P-51 1A. The instructions for decal placement are inaccurate. I learned of this while decaling and looking at the photos after the fact. I've sourced out another set of decals. The plastic cannons have been replaced with brass. Brake lines added to the landing gear. The prop is still off and the yellow ID wing bands had to be corrected. The camera window/panel on the original was blown out or molded out ward to accommodate the off set camera.

The photos are not too clear on this one. There are drawings of this canopy arrangement. Even when Accurate boxed this kit or in looking at some of the posts of built up kits decal placement is sketchy.

The ACA instructions for decal placement are off and I redid a few using photos. The kit is 95 percent done. The mission model paints complicated things and added a lot frustration for such a simple paint scheme. I'm about to drag this one across the finish line with some more touch ups.

Thank You, John and Spiros. You two have been great motivators. I'am a ten minute modeler. Spread out over 9 months. I took the time to read 4 books on the Mustang and had an opportunity to share some time with my father's last days. Being a retired pilot himself and introducing me to the hobby, listening to his adventures reaffirmed for me how lucky we are in having people who can share the hobby.

I think you are doing simply great in modeling, my friend @stephen-w-towle!
If I understand, your Father has flown North? My condolences.

Yes,he passed away. He'd say " There are bold pilots and old pilots. But, no old bold pilots. But, there are lucky pilots who are old.
