@johnb there was obviously a joke with these nanometers πŸ˜‰ , but the fact is that the edge of the masking tape is not straight. Although we assume that it is, because nothing better to mask has been invented, I suppose.

The joke was understood Lis @lis
I was just trying to point out that you are maybe looking a bit to much in details.
    Your work is great.
Just like the main gear, and yes, Dunlop is clearly visible.

Dunlop is still there, @lis. When I find myself getting tense, I usually take a break for a day or two and then start again with fresh eyes and nerves.

Sorry that I have been absent @lis. Busy vacation at home πŸ™‚ I really like the look of the top from another kite. Great thing to have on your plane. And the manufacturers name is quite clear to see. Thank you for sharing - almost makes me want to skip the rest of my to-do list and get some builds revisited. Oh, well, it will be autumn soom enough here.

Thank you friends, that you support my work, without it I would probably give up ... I'm in the energy of work struggle today and I hope that I will do something else with the model today. Meanwhile, a close-up of the bomb pylon. In the red circle an element that broke off and was fitted another one ... I hope bomb turn out observer's eyes fromt that pylon. I will mask it by wash too. Fixing what you have done is frustrating but hard to do better in advanced finish conditions.

Try putting a tiny amount of white glue in the crack, with a toothpick or other suitable means, then smooth it by running a wet cotton bud over it. The white glue might fill the micro gap and can be afterwards very carefully retouched with some silver paint and a 10/0 brush, my friend @lis!

The solution provided by Spiros @fiveten will do the work for sure, Lis @lis
Another way might be to use acrylic putty and thin that with plain water, that will give you a liquified putty which will enter the crack easily.

@fiveten @johnb Thanks for your suggestions friends. The problem is that the cross-sectional area of this element is maybe 1mm2 ... basically there is no cavity there, only unevenness after bonding the glue (which I sanded a bit anyway, but with fear of damaging other parts of the painting (as I said, everything is lightning fast) tiny). I'm afraid that I did everything in my power to repair the imperfection (except, of course, the grace of the elephant that led to the damage).

PS. from joyful events I found two Browning barrels 7.7 mm, which fell into the wings, rolled into the fuselage and stuck to the masking tape in the cokpit πŸ˜‰

@fiveten @j-healy @johnb @gblair @airbum To illustrate the problem I am sending a macro photo. The repaired and repainted damage is marked with an arrow. the fracture was relieved (surprisingly the lower pylon. The upper one was undamaged.

PS. Model was after first coat of clear X-35.

@fiveten @j-healy @johnb @gblair @airbum I rarely say that it worked out for me, but clear lay down very nicely, leveling some imperfections and unevenness of the surface. I think I can safely wait for it to dry without unnecessary nerves.

    Looking spotless, my friend @lis!
If it was said to be 1/32, I would have believed it!
