    @clipper, thank you, Carl. I think your approach would even be better because it creates the look of a real light bulb.

    @fiveten, thanks a lot, Spiros

    @tcinla, thank you, Tom. I read similar kind of stories about Guy Gibson. Peter Jackson's movie would have been a very interesting one indeed. I'm going to try and find this book by Sir Max, I would love to read it.

    John (@johnb), I think both approaches to navigation lights have use because not all nav lights are clear covers over colored bulbs. From a purely efficiency point of view, it would be better to have the same bulb for both sides and a colored light cover. The approach of painting the inside could represent the colored cover well as long as the plastic isn't too thick.

    Hi John (@johnb). Navigation lights are always a problem for me. If they are just part of the wing's gray plastic, I usually just paint them red and green and then add a coating of clear gloss. If the kit provides the clear plastic for the light, then I try to figure out what type of wingtip light the plane used. Some had clear covers and used color lights, while others had colored plastic and used clear covers.

    Since I've learned that clear plastic can be worked just like regular plastic and then polished, navigation lights and other clear parts have been less trouble than they used to be. But I can't help wondering why manufactures seem so slow in molding clear parts with parts of the surrounding structure so that it's easier to fit them and fill any seams. I know they do this with canopies and windscreens, but any clear part is fair game for this sort of treatment.

    Wash applied on the upper side and bottom side. Just a few items left, like antennas.
    From the pictures it looks like I need to reduce the wash a bit on the bottom side of the starboard wing.

    This Mosquito has turned out really very nice John (@johnb). The weathering looks suitably restrained and makes for an interesting appearance. Well done.

    @clipper, thanks a lot, Carl. If home constructions don't occupy too much time, I might finish it within the next week.

    Just to add my comments, Carl is absolutely right in his comment on nav-lights. Luckily some manufacturers are finally making the lights available as clear parts just like the ones used here. And indeed it is quite a puzzle to find out if the particular aircraft had clear or coloured glass or bulbs. Research with a nice cup of your favourite brew will do the trick 🙂

    The Mossie is looking great - perhaps as you say a little less on the starboard wing, but all in all it is a grand weathering John!

    @airbum, thanks a lot, Erik. Doing research with a cup of coffee, my favorite brew, is definitely a great approach, lack of time is the only drawback.

    And finally some progress again, not that much, but at least I'm on the move again.

    In the last couple of weeks we had some house constructions ongoing. Removed the carpet, including the carpet monster I hope, from the second floor and replaced it with laminate. Still one room to complete but at least my workbench is accessible again.

    Started this evening with the final steps on the Mosquito, placing the antenna struts. Next, and likely the final step, will be a layer of flat coat and applying the antenna wire.

    Great that you are at your bench again, my friend @johnb!
    The Mosquito looks superb, has practically crossed the finish line!

    Glad to see you working on this one again, John (@johnb). Antenna posts are evil, so I am glad yours are done. Now you have the evil antenna wire to deal with, but you always make their application look easy.
