So, this is my first try with the new airbrush.
I'm still getting used to it and trying to get consistent lines.
(I have achieved quite fine lines on a piece of card.)

It is overall RLM 76 Light Blue with a layer of RLM 83 Bright Green squiggles and RLM 81 Brown Violet (but a brown-green version) squiggles over that.
I'm pretty happy with it over all, but there are a few of the RLM 81 squiggles that are a bit too dark.
I will re-do the port stabiliser, for example.

The airbrush is fantastic and feels like pure build quality.

Michael, H&S are simply great airbrushes - I got one last year, and it is instant improvement on the painting part of modeling. Great work on the first try with the new toy - sorry, tool!

Your job looks perfect to my eyes, Michael @michaelt!
Every "uneveness", if any, is a part of the hastilly applied top camo at the airfield, or a retouch, or whatever...
    Congratulations on your new airbrush!
Looks like it does the job spot on!

    Michael,
I would leave it as is, and not attempt to touch up the squiggle lines you are not happy with. I think you have more of a chance to mess things up if you do, and right now it looks more authentic / realistic. What a great retirement gift ! Following the recommendations of Pedro Rocha, who is also an avid Luftwaffe enthusiast, I have recently purchased a H&S Evolution airbrush, and it is a best airbrush I have ever had. I got the 0.020 and the 0.040 sets for mine too. I am very impressed with just how fine of a line you can spray with it. I have a 1/32 scale Revell 262 twin seat night fighter and a Revell 1/32 scale He-219 that I will try out the new H&S airbrush on. I'm getting closer to spraying a 1/48 Dragon Ju-188 too, but I have yet to decide on what paint scheme to do.

I will definitely be looking forward to the next updates with your trio of German jets.

    @michaelt:

Just looked up that airbrush, and am very certain I am happy as a clam with my Paasche H! Yikes for the price!

    Spiros (@fiveten) and Louis (@lgardiner),
Thanks for the advice. That is part of the reason I posted the photos.
I think I can manage/live with the fuselage but the tailplane needs to be redone - at least that is a self contained area.
I look forward to seeing your builds too, Louis.

    Tom (@tcinla),

My first airbrush back in the '90s was a Paasche H, and I sill sometimes use it for large area painting, particularly for clear coats.

The next airbrush (in the '00s?) was a double action Delta 81008, which I was very happy with, but I used a different paint type to my usual Gunze acrylic in it and it never recovered.

So then I bought a no-name, double action airbrush last year for A$130 from my LHS as they didn't carry any 'name' brands. It worked well at first, but in the last several months has been giving me no end of grief.

The H&S can be bought for A$320, but cost me nothing as it was a gift. It is a magnificently engineered object and feels very precise, both when painting and when disassembling/reassembling for cleaning.

    Paint results are great, Michael.
I think you will get used to your new airbrush very fast.
My airbrush, I just started airbrushing two years ago, is a Fengda BD-180K.
Not the best available, but it does the job pretty well for a nicely priced first time airbrush.
When I get some more experience I will for sure go for a more professional one.

I have 26 hours to finish the three Me 262s and post pictures for our club competition.
Because of covid19 we have been holding on-line meetings, so we have to post photo(s) by the deadline of midnight Monday 30/11 to show their status (hopefully completed), with judging to be done when we can (hopefully) meet in person in February next year.

    So...

Dragon: I have this on it's legs and nearly complete. I just need to spray a semi-gloss coat and finish and attach the canopy plus add antenna wires.

Hobby Boss: This is in a similar state. Progress photos are attached.
I accidentally dropped this one and cracked the nose, which was easy to repair, but as you can se in the photos, I also broke off the top part of the rudder trim tab extension that I added, so I've had to repair and repaint this.

Tamiya: I'm part way through painting this one.

Photos will definitely be posted tomorrow...

Michael @michaelt, you are in a rush to meet the deadlines and you are doing a splendid job!
Mishaps happen, but are not difficult to repair...
I think you'll meet your deadline spot on!

A minor drawback but you will be able to fix it, Michael.
The camouflage on that HobbyBoss is fantastic.
For sure you will get them finished in time, you are nearly there.

    2.95 Me 262s completed.

    Dragon Me 262A-1a/U4
I finished this one to a point - I didn't get the aerial attached, but it is goof for the club competition.
I'll add it after judging in Feb and I may weather it a little.
