More in-progress shots of my 1/48 Academy MiG-29UB. Started chipping away at the yellow primer to expose the metal underneath. I used Ammo of Mig Heavy Chipping effects, but I think it's made more for armor as the yellow Vallejo paint dissolved the second I put a wet brush to it. It took some getting used to, but I finally got it to work by applying a water-moistened brush to it, waiting a few minutes, then attacking it with a stiff brush. The entire plane took about 3 hours to chip and was worth the effort.

Thanks, Halvar. Your observations are indeed correct. You just never know how these things are going to turn out. I have yet to paint the horizontal stabilizers and I think Ill use hairspray on those. We'll see how that turns out tonight.

The 1/48 Academy MiG-29UB is 98% done. Landing lights, a couple of missile pylons, and some hydraulic actuators need to be attached. The pink sealer around the canopy needs to be added and that is pretty much it.

Thank you, Halvar for the kind words. I'm glad you like it. I had that model on a shelf for 15 years and finally decided to do something with it. I saw a lot of nice builds of it, but had to build this version when I saw the photo of that stripped plane. It was just too cool not to build.
