F/A – 18E Super Hornet Hasegawa 1/72
The F/A-18E Super Hornet was developed from the F/A-18 Hornet. To extend the aircraft range, the interior fuel tank was enlarged which requiered an 86cm lenghteniing in the overall fuselage. The resulting increase in the aircraft lenght and weight requiered a more powerful engine. Also the wings were lengthened and surface area enlarge in order to increase lift.
This is a great little 1/72 Kit by Hasegawa with their usual nice fit and detail.
It was my first attempt to do an "in flight" aircraft for which I've used a great tutorial by Australian modeller Gary Wickham that you can check here and then go to references. (and I definitely recommend to check the rest of his work which is one of the best I've seen online)
Nice detail work, Jorge (especially for that scale) - love the display base, too
Lovely work on the Super Bug, Jorge! Great display, too!
Thanks mates!
Lovely execution!
It is hard to make a grey aircraft interesting: you have managed to do it!
