F/A – 18E Super Hornet Hasegawa 1/72

April 27, 2013 · in Aviation · · 8 · 3.5K

The F/A-18E Super Hornet was developed from the F/A-18 Hornet. To extend the aircraft range, the interior fuel tank was enlarged which requiered an 86cm lenghteniing in the overall fuselage. The resulting increase in the aircraft lenght and weight requiered a more powerful engine. Also the wings were lengthened and surface area enlarge in order to increase lift.

This is a great little Kit by with their usual nice fit and detail.

It was my first attempt to do an "in flight" aircraft for which I've used a great tutorial by Australian modeller Gary Wickham that you can check here and then go to references. (and I definitely recommend to check the rest of his work which is one of the best I've seen online)
