Hasegawa 72nd Panavia Tornado F.3 Saudi Arabia, Desert Storm

May 18, 2013 · in Aviation · · 4 · 2.8K

This is the 3rd 72nd Gulf War vet, this time 's 72nd . Basically the same scheme the RAF uses except for the Saudi markings. Like the RAF brothers the Saudi F3,s air combat variant of the Tornado didn't see much action during the war. Flying CAP missions with little opportunity to engage any hostile aircraft. Very nice kit, unlike the Tomcat which can be a complicated build like most swing wing aircraft are, this one was actually not to fussy. Just a step to work with and documented where the forward fuselage section has a little step where it meets the main airframe. Only AM item are the Saudi Decals from a Carpena sheet #72-37 which also provided the Kuwaiti A-4KU markings as well. This is one sheet that I will use all the markings on it. And the decals have faired well over the years as I got this sheet back in 1993. Thanks for viewing...
