Hasegawa, 1:48 Scale, Kawanishi N1K1-Ja, ‘Shinden’ (George)

Hey Folks,

I've been away for a bit, but still building. Thought I'd post a few pictures of one of my latest builds.

Loved the kit and it went together very well. A minimum of fit issues and the detail was nicely done without that "In your face" presentation...Cockpit and engine came out well and overall I was pleased with the end results.

The only issue I feel I should note here is the where the rear of the lower wing panel meets the fuselage. It's not a killer, but if you don't keep an eye on this it could be a pain in the rump to fix after the glue sets. Not a "Fatal Flaw" mind you, just be aware.

I stuck a few pics of the build in too just for a few laughs, but otherwise this is where she is now before her trip to the museum display cases.

Thanks for looking and I hope you all have a great day!

Regards

Freddie from LI

  1. Fred,
By George that does look good...

  2. Great Shiden, Freddie. NIce color choices and the chipping is excellent.

  3. Your model is SO fat...always liked the shape of that one. When we were kids, this and the Brewster Buffalo were the easiest planes to make out of toilet-paper rolls. Oh, and nice build too.

  4. VERY nice work Fred. The chipping/peeling is looks just right to me. Great, subtle shading in the paint work too.

  5. Awesome work, you've done sir!
I've build the old Revell 32nd scale once, can be found somewhere here on I.modeler.

  6. I think I'm turning Japanese! I like it!
