iModeler August Awards
Disruptions in our editorial work continued last week as yours truly went through a thoroughly frustrating network and computer upgrade of my home office. Apologies to everyone for a delay -- here are the results of our August contest, carefully selected among the 149 new articles added during the month.
As usual, we're awarding the iModeler Best in Show title to the entry that wins the jury's prize, but also list runner-ups as Honorable Mentions. We think that all are great modeling accomplishments that deserve recognition.
iModeler Best in Show - August 2013
Tolga Ulgur used to spoil us with many beautifully executed and photographed models - over 40 of them so far. This time, we fell completely in love with his newest creation, a superb rendition of the North American P-51D Mustang, the famous "LOU IV". Without a doubt, this model is a fantastic modeling achievement that would turn heads at any contest. Here at iModeler it brings Tolga the August 2013 Best in Show award!http://imodeler.com/2013/08/132-tamiya-p-51d-mustang-lou-iv/
Tolga's other creations can be admired at his iModeler blog here.
But wait, there is more!
We are also awarding a prize as a token of appreciation to all our contributors. This is selected through an entirely random draw among all the entries of the month. This time, our lucky winner is Joe Caputo with his 1/48 Lindberg JN-4D Jenny. Thank you for making iModeler such a great modeling hangout!

Thank you ! Being able to join in the fun is my pleasure, indeed. I've met some great people on this site, and am looking forward to many more. Their work is outstanding, and this site is the only way I'd be able to enjoy it. Again, many thanks !
Tough to beat anything by Tolga Ulgur...congratulations, one and all.
Congratulations to everyone.
Tolga's "Lou IV" is tied with two others I know of over the years for accurate recreation of this well-known but often-mistaken airplane. The work on this model is just superb.
Joe's Jenny shows that jut 'cuz it's old doesn't mean it can't be good.
All the others are the models that caught my eye this past month.
Thanks Tom, especially for the guidance on the correct colour choice.
Indeed, Tolga, a well -deserved award for you! And congrats to all. I would like to make my own honorable mention to Maxim Bylkin, though, for his great Polikarpov and DH-9, also. I know it's no easy job picking a best of the month out of this bunch!
Congrats to all the winners...another month of beautiful work.
Congratulations to the winners! Well-deserved by all.:)
Gary
Well deserved congratulations to Tolga and everyone else mentioned, fantastic models and photographs, thank you for sharing them with us.
Tolga has done another masterful "Goldie Locks" build. The pre-shading and the post shading show just enough wear, tear and fading to make it represent the real aircraft. Its all in the details.
The honorable mentions show how high the bar has been set.
Congratulations to the month of August crew on doing a out standing job of making this site look good.
Two Thumbs up on the whole lot.
Two thumbs up
Gentlemen,
A well deserved congratulations for the models you have allowed us to look at. Combined, there is an overwhelming skill factor. Tolga, what can I say that I did not already say, -Where does the real airplane stop and the model begin-. Outstanding job. I love all of the rest of the winners. Have to love the old Jenny as it it such a classic airplane.
Congratulations to all selected " Extraordinary Finalists".
Thank you very much to all for your comments and to Editors for the prize.
Happy Modelling
And also congrats to lucky winner of course..
Congratulations Tolga on a well deserved award. Your P-51 is well built and exceptionally well finished. I do like the Jenny too, looks pretty awesome. Good job and congratulations to both of this month's winners.
Exceptionally built P-51, right down to the landing gear wells, love all the wires and cables. Congrates to all the winners.
Congratulations to the winners and of course the best of them - Tolga! Mustang is gorgeous, all at altitude - assembling, painting, photography, fine!
All stunning work. Tough one to judge!
