A pair of Yamahas

October 8, 2013 · in Automotive · · 9 · 1.3K

The Moto GP world was surprised when hearing the news that three times world champion Valentino Rossi was moving from Honda to for the 2004 season. Yamaha had developed their 2003 machine and were ready to take over the crown from Honda. Yamaha supplied two teams with a pair of bikes each. The blue one

, sponsored by French tobacco firm Gauloise, had Rossi and N. Abe, while the red and silver machines , sponsored by Spanish cigarettes Fortuna, fielded Spanish riders Carlos Checa and Marco Melandri. Yamaha won the manufacturers' championship, and Rossi went on to gain his fourth riders' crown.

These two kits are (again) from 's series, and as long as you follow the instructions, shouldn't give you any problems, and are supplied with superb Cartograf decals. I followed the colour calls from Tamiya, and photographed them on my kitchen worktop. I rather like them without the cowlings

!

Hope you like them.

  1. Nice work, I have never built one of these kits but have a lot of respect for those that do. Nice work on yours, and good work on the decals. They look fast just sitting there.

  2. George , your work and skill is astounding, 2 very good builds there sir.

  3. I'll second that, great paint and superb decals!

  4. George, I don't know how you do it, but don't stop ! They are BEAUTIFUL ! I definitely have questions, you can answer, I mean, they look REAL !

  5. Very nice! Two at once as well, that's just showing off! Cracking builds there though George. Have you seen the silver and white M1 kit? I fancy a crack at that one!

  6. George,
Very, Very nice. They look like a person could jump on them and ride away. Not me though, I want four wheels under me. Great job.

  7. Little jewels. Superior, George.
