Scale Modelworld Telford U.K. 2013

November 10, 2013 · in Show Reports · · 12 · 2.2K

Well scalemodel world is finished for another year so here are some pictures of the event for all those of you who could not attend. The first few pictures are from the competition and the standard was of course amazing, my personal favourites were the crashed B17 on the low loader and the Andrea Gail sailing up a wave from the movie "Perfect storm", the others are from the show where most of the clubs in the U.K. were represented , there are some shots of the new Airfix 1/24 Typhoon and believe me it is fantastic I cannot wait for next summer when they said it will be available to buy for about £85.00. I quizzed the Airfix rep about any future releases and he suggested there will be a new Tiger Moth but I can't imagine that being as eagerly awaited somehow.I was also very impressed with the Iconicair 1/32 Spiteful which will be available next year.

I hope you enjoy the pictures,N

  1. Cheers Neil, some great pics there. I saw the B17 on the low loader on another site and that look great. The standard of competition must of been high I imagine, far beyond my efforts.

  2. Neil,

Fantastic photos of the Typhoon and all of the other interesting builds that your keen eye picked out . Your up for Saint and Knighthood on Imodel for services above and beyond the norms of what most modelers would do.
Thank you for your time and photographic skills. The Typhoon shots are some of the best I've seen on the net.

  3. Exceptional camera work on some exceptional models.
    Thanks for sharing.

  4. Stop it your making me blush...that Typhoon is nice though and the forthcoming 1/32 Spitefull, the green and yellow Liberator is the one piloted by Jimmy Stewart . I noticed a few American accents (yes you guy do have one !) and a club stand from a Canadian group - a very friendly lot they were, also people from Malta, Israel, Italy and a few other European groups.

    • I know we have about 30 guys from various IPMS chapters here in the States that made the hop over the pond for the show & some tours. That could account for some of those accents you heard.

  5. Cheers Neil, thanks for that.

  6. Great pictures! the star of the show for me has to be the Airfix 1:24 Typhoon...what a heast!

  7. Er...I mean beast 😉
