The F-8E(fn) Crusader in French service 1/48 Hasegawa
Hello everyone,
To continue my little series 2004-2005, I present the F-8E (FN) Crusader 1/48 Hasegawa. This model represents this great American fighter early in his career with the French Navy and specifically in testing missile Matra 530. There are no aftermarket on this model apart from the ejection seat. The airbrake is homemade.
This is my representation of the finest and most legendary aircraft of the French Navy and worthy successor F4U7 Corsair.
Thank you all,
Eric

Eric, yet again a very fine build and finish.
You attention to detail is amazing.
A nice simple base to show the plane off.
Well done sir.

Another beauty. Landing gear detail must be your forte. Do you do your panel lines with pencil.

Hello Al,
I make painting my models with enamel. Once the camouflage is, I apply a coat of gloss varnish. I put the stencil. I apply a new coat of gloss varnish. I make juice dark brown or black that I apply with a brush by capillary action in the engraving of the model. Finally I apply a coat of satin varnish. This is the method I use for all my buildings.
Thank you Al.

very nice detail work on the landing gear – even knowing it is a model, the close-ups look like the real thing!

Very nice. As others have said, I like the washes added to the landing gear. This is something that I am trying to achieve as well. It seems that you used grey/dark grey instead of black which looks much better. I need to correct the gear of the P40E I am working on now. The tarmac surface looks to be homemade as well?

Thank you very much Alan. Yes, all on this representation is homemade. I generaly used dark grey, brown or black juice.
I hope you will show us your P-40. I just buy the 1/32 P-40 from Hasegawa and i would be very curious to see yours mounted and read your experience about this assembly.
Best regards, Eric

WOW! I like all the blue anodized fittings on the hydraulic lines. I built Monogram’s F-8 and the difference in the stance on the landing gear is amazing! Looks like I’ll be replacing it with this one!
