Eduard 1:48 I-16 type 24
Hello everybody!
This is the model I won on November random award, The I-16 type 24.
It is really a nice kit to build, went on without filling and sanding. Maybe, the most tricky stage was the undercarriage with all of those covers.
As always, I painted the model with Gunze acrylics and weathered with oils and pastels.
Hope you like it!
Best wishes:
Emeterio.

Congratulations on winning the award and congratulations again for doing such a nice job with it. The finish and wear is great and I have always liked the look of this stubby little aircraft.

Wow. That’s a great looking model. Great paint and shadfing. I-16’s seem to photograph well. something about the “stance” maybe? I like the straight up shot, a real “fly (Mosca) on the wall”.

Some real good shading on the ailerons and elevators to bring out the details. While some of the lighter greens on the leading edge of the wing and at mid-span are subtle and to the point. The kit really is a jewel.
Two thumbs up.

Emoteio,
Absolutely stunning.

Nice clean build, killer paint application on the underside of the aircraft. Some folks (like me) tend not to put a lot of effort on underside detail. Great job!

One of my favorite planes and it looks great! I have the Type 10 in the stash, just waiting for time to build. Your model is fantastic!

Emeterio,
Many thanks for posting. You have done a great job on this most important airplane. It makes me want to give the Eduard kit a try. A little airplane that was really something in its day.

I like it! Is this a upgraded re-release of the old Hobbycraft kit, or an all new tooling?
I was fortunate enough to see one flying at EAA about 10 years ago. It really is a neat little plane! (I really thought the gear retracting method was novel! Nice to see it on your model!)
