P40 Kittyhawk MkIII
This is the Italeri kit done a while back, i think this was the first kit i used my new Rosie the riveter tool on, the rest is pretty much out of the box not really any vices to report i had to freshen up some of the panel lines on the tail because they seemed non-existent in places probably due to being a very old tooling i dont think its Italeri's i think its an old ERTL or something like that with just initials as the company name?.
All paints used would have been Mr Hobby's Aqueous range which are with out doubt one of the best ranges out there (IMHOP) then dirtied up with washes and Mig pigments.
hope you like it
Cheers
Mark...
Beautiful build, finish & detailing job - I love it! great photos, too.
Nice one Mark, not heavily overdone weathering.
Looks the part of a well used aircraft.
Well done Mark.
Very nice Mark. Just right. 🙂

Nice job Mark , I like the exhaust staining and gun smoke.

Cool Kittyhawk. Love the paint work on this one, great weathering. Like it!
Cheers Guys, Like i said its one from a few years back 2009 to be exact, well thats the date stamp on the image, but i its from before that because these photos were taken when i was having a clear out of my display shelf and the photos were taken so i could post the model on eBay, when it sold i seem to remember being surprised at how much it went for if memory serves that one went for about £60/70 ish thats what spurred me on to sell a few more just so i could use the money to buy more plastic.
Looking at the model today the weathering looks a little crude and heavy in places, but at the time i that was my style i seemed to weather everything to death back then i like to think i have learned a little more finesse these days.
But its good now and then to get down and dirty and seriously overdo the weathering! well i think so
Thanks for the kind comments guys

Italerei (aka AMT). Nice work on this.
Nasty, grubby, abused, and perfect. I love it.
Nice dirty build...what scale is this beauty?
Hi Mike, its not my usual scale its 1/48,
Thanks for the kind comments

A great model of the 'classic Kittyhawk'.

Very nicely done. I like it and like the scheme.
