1970 Nissan Skyline GT-R (KPGC-10) Rubber Soul

November 26, 2014 · in Automotive · · 11 · 2.4K

Just finished this one - built completely stock from the kit.

Paint was Rover Leyland White with Zero Paints Active Red. I had to mask and spray this as the decals cracked when I tried to apply them. Top coat was Zero Two Pack Clear, polished but not waxed as I did not want too shiny a finish.

  1. This looks the business, Chris, and I'm with you on the finish, if it's too glossy it doesn't look real.

  2. Especially not for racing cars - but unfortunately you do need to clear over the decals... Quite happy with this one as it's the first racing car I've built in probably 10 years!

  3. Good-lookin' job, my friend...is the term "Rubber Soul" referencing the Beatles album somehow...or am I missing something obvious?

  4. Nothing wrong with the finish. She is just factory fresh with that polished look. Well done!

  5. Good looking build Chris. Is it 1/24th?

  6. Great looking car, Chris. A lot of guys in our club are motor heads, and talkng to them I'm beginning to get an eye for the better builds.

  7. Looking great, iModeler is a good place for car modelling

  8. Thanks all! Al - yes, 1/24th. Craig - Rubber Soul is a Japanese tuning company who did a lot of modified Skylines back in the '70s. They're still around now, but their cars are highly sought after.

  9. Looking great. This raspbery ripple scheme really makes the model stand out. Thanks for sharing and welcome onboard at iModeler 🙂

  10. Nice Skyline Chris, cleanly finished.
    Well done sir.
