The annual Moson Model Show is running this weekend, and we'll be looking forward to the many modeling surprises in the next two days.
Rumors say that a total of 1,400 models have been pre-registered for the competition through the web. This whopping number is almost double the last years' web registrations. Together with all entries to be made on-site, we might be heading for a mind-boggling 2,000 models competition - which would be an all-time-high for this important event in Europe.
I have just arrived at Mosonmagyarovar (Moson to all of us foreigners) this morning with an early morning flight to Vienna, then about an hour's ride on a train. We have been met by a warm spring weather, the usual sleepy atmosphere in the town centre and as yet empty exhibition tables in the town's main university building, modelers from all over Europe just starting to arrive.
It's hard to no love being here. As a foretaste of the things coming, I'm also attaching some quick shots of the very first entrants at the competition tables.
Willkommen, bienvenue, welcome!

Lemme try that again...quite the picturesque little town, Martin... (IIRC, wasn't it raining last time?). The initial entries are really impressive - can't wait to see what else you'll have to offer. By the way, how come none of those posted announcements are in English?
Man - I am drooling already! There is some GREAT talent across the pond! Look forward to seeing the rest.
Looking forward to seeing more great photos posted.
Got my passport in order, but I don't think the wif would like it.
Good grief! Can't wait to see what else appears! Lovely venue, too. How's the local beer and sausage?
The sign board reminds you how really international this hobby is. Good thing to be reminded of.
Shame I'll never get to these places, but his is pretty close.
What a nice venue to hold this event. The first few entries are quite impressive. Museum quality. Can't wait to see the rest of the show.
certainly looks like a great place and not just to hold what looks like a brilliant model show.
Hehehehe, that's me in the pic no. 7 🙂 Great show!
