Thunderbird S – F/A-18 successor’s successor Fin Air&Space Force
Thunderbird S(hadow):
Fin Air&Space Force purchased F/A-18 successor's successor from International Rescue (Tracy Brothers). Thunderbird S will work mainly on search and rescue missions and stealth support operations. Speciality is the cockpit which is actually a hermetic motorcycle! When landing is not possible, pilot can drop it from the plane and drive to the nearest e.g. hot dog stand without any delay. Rest of the plane will be then remote controlled (or autopilot).
TBS kit:
This is my latest build. Model is from Takara Tomy. Easy to assemble very hi quality kit. Painted it stealth metal black. Minimal oil weathering made while the real fighter surface material is slipperier than teflon. Transparent stand is included in the kit + led light/clear parts (cartoon like) afterburners. Very thin decals (too thin for me so I painted) and stickers are both included.
Thunderbirds info:
Thunderbirds UK TV-series from 60s created by Gerry Anderson & wife was a fantastic (or FAB as they say) series with revolutionary puppet characters, thrilling rescue stories, really cool models (+nice weathering!) and huge explosions. Each Tracy family character had a special vehicle to fly and drive (TB1 - TB5). Pls take a look at the intro & the making document.

The new version of Thunderbirds (Thunderbird S is a one new plane) is a modern computer created animation TV-series (digital & clean). I prefer old 60s TB but younger viewers might like faster paced new version.
