Tamiya 1/25th scale Morris Mini Cooper 1275S Mk-1
This was built absolutely straight from the box, and finished with Tamiya spray color TS-41 Coral Blue that I decanted and applied with my Iwata HP-CS. Everything in the engine bay was all brush painted, and the interior was very carefully airbrushed with white, super pale grey, and super pale blue. I stripped the chrome so I could remove molding seams, and used Alclad Chrome to refinish the parts. Enjoy!
Turned out nicely, George...good work.
That's really neat! Thanks for including the ruler in one of the shots. My first thought was - that must be tiny...
They say that if you've never driven an original Mini then you are missing a great driving experience and I definitely agree with that. I owned a few Minis in my younger days and they were terrific fun to drive. The Mini Cooper 1275S is probably the ultimate in fun and you've captured the look perfectly with this model, very original colour scheme and nice detailing under the bonnet. Tamiya have done several versions of the Mini, I keep meaning to get hold of the rally version...
Wow, that looks nice, and small as well.good job
I had a friend in college who had one of these, and you really could get four people my size (slim, 6' 1") inside. Anyone bigger than 160 pounds wasn't going to make it in the backseat with two though! You're right George that they were fun to drive. I always love the original "Italian Job," with them driving these all over Turin.
Forgot to mention, very nice model.
Nice! and unusual.
