Telford 2016: New kit releases from Revell
Revell presented their all-new 1/32 Messerschmitt Me 262B Night Fighter. The completed demonstration model looked really impressive, including things like open slats, detailed engine and gun bays as well as delicately moulded radar antennae.
Other new-tool kits presented by Revell are the cute 1/16 BMW Isetta, the 1/24 McLaren 570S and a brand-new 1/72 scale Spitfire Mk II. (The presentation model having a bit odd canopy)
The broadcast is working 🙂
Whats on the Revell 262 better than Trumpeter ?
Maybe the sticker price?
Stephan, well played!
I'm not sure, as there were no actual sprues on display, only the completed prototype model. But I'd agree with Stephen that once released, the Revell kit is likely to be the most affordable quality kit of the 262 on the market.I also think it's cool that they're beginning with a two-seater.
Zee booble kar looks like fun.
Yes and there's something about it that says "buy me"! lol
Neil, Jahwohl!
Finally, deployable L/E slots on an Me-262! Like the original!
Martin, thanks for posting this. Some nice choices.
Good point on the slats!
I see what you mean about that Spit windscreen...wonder what's up with that?
Nice mclaren! I've just been driving one of those today, that's what I sacrificed Telford to do. Amazing cars!
Can't blame you then, and this was a great looking model, really eye-catching.
Ho-hum. The only reason anyone knows anything about the 2-seater 262 was Kurt Welter collected four to use for trades with the Allies at the end of the war. Despite mythology to the contrary, they never saw combat since NJG 11 was a Wilde-Sau unit, they had no operators and the radar didn't work, according to my friend Jorg Czypionka, the last survivor of the unit. That Spitfire looks horridly worse than the really nice Airfix kit in 1/72, which has all the parts in the box to do a IIa, just like the 1/48 kit does.
