Bell X 1, 46062, USAF Muroc Air Base California 1947.
1/72 Hobbycraft, almost OOB, I replaced the pitots with brass wire, finished in Floquil F110030 and MM enamels with Tamiya X22 over kit and other decals, built 2007. This aircraft named "Glamorous Glennis" flown by Captain Charles "Chuck" Yeager.
Good looking X-1! What is the name on that Floquil? They're gone, now. That was a nice line of paints, I miss them.
Thanks Bernard, Reefer Orange, all the good stuff seems to disappear or is hard to get !
Wow...that certainly is ORANGE, ain't it ?! 🙂 🙂
Thanks Craig, very ripe !
Beautiful work as usual Allan.
Now if you had a 1/72 B-29... 🙂 🙂 😉
I do.
Thanks Louis, my Washington is in British colors, not quite finished yet !
That paintwork has certainly stood the test of time, built ten years ago.
Thanks George.
Looks great ! I did this one a while back. It's was a good kit, especially for a Hobby Craft. They made some winners !
Thanks Phil, but the decals not so good !
Nice work Alan, don't remember this kit looks great.
Thanks Robert.
BEAUTIFULLY painted, Allan! The finish looks great, as does the rest. Gen. Yeager would be proud!
Thanks Jeffry.
Very nice. We don't see much of this model around. You did a really good job.
Cheers mate!
Thanks Paulo.
