Sukhoi Su-27 UB
Hello again!
This is the Eduard limited edition kit in 1/48 scale. The mouldings are originaly from the Academy Flanker C, but Eduard have worked their magic and included various photo etch and resin aftermarket parts, plus a correct nose cone.
On top of this, I purchased a host of other aftermarket sets. The ladders, tow bar, resin wheels, covers and metal pitot tube all came from different corners of the world (via eBay) to go into the build.
I did a work in progress report over in the groups section, feel free to check that out for more information on the sub assemblies and the painting. Thanks to everyone who followed the WIP, very much appreciated!
As always, thanks for looking!
OMG, this model just blew me away! I really also enjoy your cockpit work. The weathering in the cockpit is awesome. Really take it to another level!
Thanks mate! Much appreciated.
I couldn't get the lighting right in the cockpit on the final photos so I included a couple of pics from the WIP. Cheers!
Stunning work, sir...top-notch build!
Thanks mate, much appreciated!
I've followed the thread, and was waiting to see this one posted. Excellent work - she's a real beauty! Love the weathering - has a perfect realistic look to it.
Thanks very much mate! They are fairly old jets now so wanted to give it a well used look. Cheers!
Great looking build Richard.
Thank you Anthony, cheers!
I'm not much of a modern jets guy, but this just knocks me on my assets. Truly amazing result, a demonstration of real talent, skill, and ability.
Thank you very much Tom, really appreciate that! Cheers.
Amazing at all aspects!
Cheers mate, thank you !
Richard, this is magnificent. I'd recommend a look at the WiP if you haven't seen it - it's a superb thread.
Cheers mate, thanks very much!
Cool looking Flanker, Richard! It was fun following your progress!
Thanks mate, cheers! It was fun doing it!
Beautiful job, Richard. That kit is not easy to pull off. I started one and gave up on it.
Thanks very much George! It took a fair bit of filling and sanding mind!
Arguably the most beautiful aircraft in the world. Great build, Richard,
I’d agree with you there Rob! And thank you!
Just WOW! amazing model of a beast of a plane. Impressive by all accounts. Congratulations Richard. I missed the WIP but will surely read it. I have a friend that is mad about Sukhois so will share a link of your post just to make him drool a bit
Thanks very much mate, cheers! Your friend has taste!
Fabulous Flanker!
Thanks very much Robert!
It looks really great, Richard, well worth all that hard work.
Cheers George, much appreciated!
Great model!
Thanks very much mate!
Great build Richard, you nailed her.
Fine variation on the paint work and good weathering too.
Great pics to add to it.
Well done mate.
Cheers Simon, much appreciated!
Richard, I'm going to use the terribly overused word here, but it fits: Awesome!
The Sukhois are very purposeful looking aircraft and seem to ooze deadliness..
Well done, Richard! Great looking painting and the accessories really set the model off well.
Thanks very much Jeff, cheers!
Richard, Very nice, I have to admit I'm not much of a jet guy, but I'm pretty sure I have a grasp on good modeling, and this is good modeling, especially the fantastic looking paint work ! Well done !
Absolutely!
Thanks very much Terry! I’ve always been much more interested in jets, probably just because they are loud and fast...
