Avro 560 (Choroszy Modelbud 1/72)

August 12, 2018 · in Aviation · · 16 · 2.1K

Between two World Wars there were build a lot of various airplanes – the great time of pioneering. Sure, most of that constructions did not managed to leave any significant trace in the aviation history, so they are forgotten. But we have some manufacturers of a resin kits, and they always search for something interesting and unusual. For example, this 560 ultra-light monoplane, built in 1923 by Avro Aircraft. It was powered by 670 cc engine, and it eats twice less fuel per 100 km than my car – only 4.5 liters! Unfortunately, only one Avro 560 was built.

by Choroszy Modelbud in scale. I think, I can say that this is a classic resin kit, made without any 3D technologies. I wouldn't compare this kit to a modern SBS or Attack Squadron kits, it's just against the rules, but it's not hard to build it, and it fits quite good. But you should be prepared for scratch-building (a little), eliminate air bubbles (not that much) in a resin, and have an issue with decals (it's better to replace them completely if possible).

Painted primary with Vallejo aluminum acrylic color, weathered with oils.

Thanks for watching!
