Sergeant Oddball, 6th Armored Division, summer 1944, France.
I am not usually much into painting large figures, but when I ran into a bust of Kelly's Heroes' sergeant Oddball, I had to pick it up.
Kelly's Heroes is a movie that I watched at least once a week when I was a very young teenager and this movie got me into armor modelling. My first 1/35 kit was an M4A3, so it's only fitting I went full circle with this figure.
I can't for the life of me remember the manufacturer, but I can tell you I had fun with this one.
Great movie & Donald Sutherland played Oddball very well!
That’s a rather impressive bust. It’s nicely sculpted and resembles the original surprisingly well.
And hats off to the painting. ‘Not much into painting...’. You really should be because you are good at it! Those red-rimmed reefer-crazed eyes are spot on!
Oddball: Why don't you knock it off with them negative waves? Why don't you dig how beautiful it is out here? Why don't you say something righteous and hopeful for a change?
Excellent job, woof woof.
Beautiful work...figure painting apparently suits ya IMO - 🙂
A bust that's close to my heart, woof woof
Positive waves!. positive waves!
One of my most favorite movies. You have captured Oddball very well. Great job.
Nicely done, woof, woof.
nice detail...first class metal
Thanks guys!
To a New Yorker like you, a hero is some kind of weird sandwich. Not some nut who takes on three Tigers.
Nicely done, and what a great subject!
