Something I stumbled upon from a fellow modeller. A brief History of some of the giants in models.
Enjoy.

  1. I watched that a few weeks ago. Pretty interesting, as I've had a monogram, revell, and Aurora kit.

  2. Very informative videos. Grab your favorite beverage, and take a trip down memory lane.

  3. He has a few more too, relating to MPC, AMT, etc. Very good and informative. Also, there are some interesting comments on the video, notably from former employees or their children.

  4. Awesome posting, James.
    All the best!

  5. TY for posting this. Really enjoyed the section on Aurora models, and it explained why their kits sometimes varied so much in quality. Also appreciate how the filmmaker "condensed" the portion about Monogram going from being owned by Mattel to it's succession of owners in the mid-eighties on up, because that must've been really tedious work to sort through older trade magazines and newspapers trying to trace them all back.

  6. Went back to his channel this morning to poke around. He is in the beginnings of making a new one covering other companies. Not sure if it's going to be one video or several.

  7. Interesting. And for those that haven't read them Schiffer's books on those three are all worth reading. Though I would say the Aurora volume is the weakest of the 3, almost being more of a collectors guide, but with plenty of company history, including Round 2 Polar Lights, and Moebius

  8. Nice! thanks for posting this. I live not five minutes from where Aurora Hempstead property was, there's now a supermarket located there.

  9. Hello James. @jamesb
Thanks for sharing this with us... It definitely is a trip down memory lane. I built a bunch of these kits back in the day, as did the majority of us.

    Take care and stay safe.
