Airfix 1/48 Spitfire PR. XIX
Hello iModeler! This is my recently finished Airfix Spitfire PR. XIX. Although the interferon detail was not as crisp as the newly tooled Airfix Mk. V Spitfire, it was still a fun kit and went together rather nicely. Build was OOB, paint was by Vallejo and decals were Kit's World Mk. XIX Generic set.
Very nicely done,Ramon.
I agree with you about the better quality of the Mk.V mouldings.
Thanks Tony!
Nice work Ramon ! I built one of these for the 100 Years of the RAF group that Paul Barber hosted. My main problem was the fit if the landing gear legs. Airfix used a rather odd (and weak) arrangement there...I used the same decal set as you, but I chose to build the one with the D Day stripes to help break up the overall PRU scheme. The Spitfire and the Mosquito look great in these colors... almost as if they were built specifically to be painted a shade of PRU Blue.

Thanks Louis. I agree, the landing gear attachment is not one of this kit's strengths, and it is a pretty airplane in PRU Blue!
Great looking Spitfire.
thanks!
That's a great model, Ramon!
Your Spitfire looks magnificent in that PRU Blue.
All the best!
Thank you Spiros!
Nice work. The PRU Blue allows the shapeliness of the PR XIX to shine through. Great result.
Thanks Tom!
Beautiful job, Ramon.
thank you John!
Ramon, Great job all around! For me, the Griffon powered Spitfires are Big, Bad and Beautiful!
Thanks Erich. I agree, the Griffon engine Spitfires are extra sexy!
PRU blue always looks good on a Spit. Nicely done Ramon
Thank you Tom!
