Hasegawa 1/48 Ki-44-II-Ko 85th Sentai
Another great fitting Hasegawa kit depicted as an 85th Sentai plane flown by ace Captain Yukiyoshi Wakamatsu. paints used were MR Color SM206 for the bare metal and AK RC Midori Iro base and Cha Kasshoku (Tea Color) brown splotches.
Wow, that's just lovely. Well done.
More great paintwork. I really like this!
Nice, Woody! All three models show great attention to detail. Welcome to imodeler.
Again fantastic, Woody.
All three aircraft seen are amazing.
"Liked" a lot.
Great paintwork on all 3 models Woody!
Woody, @wkubacki
Welcome aboard here at Imodeler. This is another great looking plane !
I recently finished up a larger 1/32 Hasegawa version of the same plane, and this was one of the schemes I originally considered for it. I have several of these Hasegawa 1/48 scale Ki-44 kits left in the stash to be built... so if you don't mind, I just might use this article as a good reference for when I paint my next Ki-44.
You're hitting a serious bunch of home runs here with all of your Japanese planes. Thanks for participating in our Empire of Japan group build. There's still time left, so if you have any other projects in mind, please feel free to start it. I can adjust the end date as needed.
Again I pressed the "liked" button for this build.
@lgardner
Thanks for the kind words, I try to improve each time I build. I build Japanese planes exclusively and right now I’m working on Tamiya’s latest A6M3 Ko with the long barreled cannon, but I won’t be done for another month or so.
As for the Ki-44, of you need any more information that I didn’t include in my build, feel free to message me. I have to admit I couldn’t have done it without Ronnie’s help, he stripped his profile down later by later so I could see how the layers of camo were built up
Great job
Another excellent model, Woody @wkubacki!
Your paintjob is amazing!
Thanks for your detailed build threads, especially for the painting sequences!
Three fantastic additions to the group build, Woody, thank you very much for sharing these and for the info on building and especially painting. Definitely liked.
I see a theme going here - great looking Japanese fighters in really cool paint schemes. Well done!
Complex camouflage scheme executed perfectly
Beautiful model
