1/350 Trumpeter USS Hornet CV-8 "Doolittle Raid"

Welcome to last and final week of the Trumpeter 1/350 USS Hornet CV-8 Project!

For 30 weeks and 660 hours of work this project is finally completed. The final update in the build log is a large update covering the 3-D crew figures, detailed write up on creating the “At Sea” base, and adding a few final details. There are over 50 photos added in this final update. The write up for the details is very long so please visit my build log. I will be added professional photos later as well. I want to thank all my fans and viewers for following along on this long highly detail build. I hope you have enjoyed watching this build. Take Care and happy modeling!

You can read about all the details as well as numerous photos from the start to the finish in the build log section at https://davidsscalemodels.com/build-log/1-350-uss-hornet-cv-8-doolittle-raid/

  1. What an impressive build of an equally impressive ship, David @davids_models
It was a real pleasure to take part of your building thread.
Each week you surprised us with even more and better details on this build.
Especially the impressive number of aircraft which you built are amazing.
    Well done.

  2. This is one of the most complicated and most wonderful builds I have ever seen, David! A truly superlative build in every respect. Your thread was a joy to follow and, though in no way can I match your skills, I learned a lot.
Your subject is a milestone in history, which you depicted in excellence.
    Congratulations!

  3. Nice work, very dificult.

  4. Inspiring work, David. So much to look at in this labor of love, and I bet even more so in real life, given the details seen in your WIP photos. Awesome seeing all those B-25s on deck..

  5. Fantastic build!

  6. Just wonderful. Wish I could see it in person.
