AIP 1/144 Thunderbird 1
Another nostalgic blast for me.
A great kit with absolutely no issues at all.
Primed with Tamiya Lacquer Gloss Black.
Painted with Xtreme Metals Aluminium, ColourCoats Light Mediterranean Blue, Insignia Red.
Citadel Nuln Oil for the enginey bits.
Finished with Windsor & Newton Satin Varnish.
Thanks for looking,
Cheers,
Alistair
Amazing build, Alistair!
Also Thunderbird two and the Angel interceptor! Wonderful!
Thanks Spiros.
Cool blast from the past!
Many thanks
You obviously enjoyed this build, Alastair, must be a little tricky to photograph though.
Thanks,
I did enjoy it.
Was totally unaware of the Thunderbirds until TCM did a Movies with Puppets night on their channel. They showed to Thunderbirds movies back to back. Really had to love it, the entire movie was was one model and diorama after another. Wife couldn't believe I was watching it but enjoyed them a lot. Great stuff and your model looks like it should have been in the movie the other night! Great job.
Thanks so much,
That is very kind.
Great looking Thunderbird, Alistair @alistairfgauld
Thanks very much.
Excellent! So much souvenirs… Bravo!
Thank-you.
Just a Doctor Who/Gerry Anderson shelf.
Wow ! Thunderbirds was literally the most exciting thing when I was a kid , every morning during the long summer holiday , Da dada dahh ,dada da da Da ... Thunderbird 2 was my favorite but your #1 is a close second , brilliant job on this Al ,it looks like model from the studio.
Windsor and Newton is artists oil paint right ? so how are you applying it , brush or airbrush ?
Thanks very much.
The Windsor & Newton used on this was one of their Galleria Acrylic Varnishes.
It gets sprayed neat.
I like their varnishes.
Thunderbirds are a go!
Excellent build!
Thanks so much.
Well done, Alistair (@alistairfgauld). I remember watching Thunderbirds when I was a kid. Your great model brings back a lot of memories. Is that Dr Who in the background?
Thanks very much.
Yes it's the Big Chief figure of the Eighth Doctor.
Not my favourite story but Paul McGann's stellar work with Big Finish has made me a huge fan.
F.A.B. ! Alistair @alistairfgauld
Many Thanks.
