Building a 1:50 Scale Truck Dock - Part 2
A little update. I've added a third dock to the the already two that I had already made. At the very corner of the dock will be a wall, which I'm presently working on. I added another big extension to the docking bay end. This was mainly to provide background staging for the client. It can also be removed and placed back, if he choses to, in order to take photos from the end. I also incorporated both last names of the clients, as the company's name, at the top of the new structure. I thought this would give the diorama a special touch. π I've added several more signs here and there, to liven up the diorama. I still have the details for the roof and weathering to do. I have to add the wall at the short end of the docks, next to the new cargo door. I will also be adding lights, which I have never done before. That will be a challenge. Will also add a couple more bollards. Hope you like it. Almost there. π
1:1 realistic, Charles! Wonderful job!
Thanks my friend.
Makes one want to shrink one self down and play in this very real looking work Charles !
A world within a world it is.
HeHe! Thanks Bernard.
Amazing progress, Charles @tiking
Did you create those signs yourself, and if so, how did you do that. They look great.
Hi John. All signs were collected from photos off the net that I downloaded and scaled to size using a word processing program.
Thanks Charles,
Sorry for keep on asking, did you use a photo printer for that or a regular printer. To me the used 'paper' seems very thin and smooth.
Keep asking John. No problems. π I used regular printer paper with a thin backing to give it more rigidity. But on the bay doors, I just glued it on as is. The overall look is better.
Fantastic work!
This is amazing work, the blend of different colours on and around the bricks is spot on, in fact everything is spot on.
Thanks a lot Bob. My appreciation.
Yet more fantastic work, Charles. Is this based on your clientβs actual premises, or is it a product of your imagination?
Hello George. Thank you kindly. This is from my own imagination. The client gave me artistic freedom after the last mountain road, display I had made for him. It's the one I posted some months back.
When I saw the photo I thought this was the real thing, Charles (@tiking). Exceptional results. I have a model railroad where I scratchbuild a lot of my buildings, but they certainly don't look like this. Well done.
Hi George. Glad you like the build. Model railroading is a scale that can ruin my eyes if I would start building buildings in that scale. π fortunately I don't have the room for a layout.
Thank u Dennis.
Very realistic - if you hadn't included the shot with the trees overlooking the set, you could have convinced me it was real.
Thank you Tom.
The King of realism, long live the King! @tiking
Hehe! Robert. Cool that you liked it. Thank you.
