Revell 1/72 S-100 boat

September 29, 2022 · in Ships · · 8 · 1.2K

My German High Speed attack boat from WW2 which I completed during the lockdown period.
It was a fairly easy model to build, with only 1 or 2 minor issues (easily overcome). Length of this kit is 48,6cm

Paints used are Vallejo Model Color Tan Earth for the wood parts, Vallejo Model Air White Grey for the sides and superstructures, Vallejo Model Air AMT-11 Blue Grey for the decking, Vallejo Model Air German Grey for the lower hull, Vallejo Model Color Bronze for the propellers and a mixture of Vallejo Model Color Saddle Brown & Natural Steel in 70% to 30% for the anchor and the tops of the boats gaff hooks.
The Model Air Colors were air brushed on the Vallejo Model Color are hairy stick painted.
The rope on the foredeck is home made using model boat rigging string as are the 2 x antenna wires - one each side of the boat from the 20mm cannon rail to the spacers either side of the bridge and then to the rail behind the bridge.

  3. inspiring and Nice clean work Phillip.
Thanks for showing. I have this kit in my stash and will look at your post when I get to putting it together.

  4. Very sharp build, Phillip, I like the flag.

    • Many thanks. The flag is one copied off the internet, pasted on to Paint and trimmed down then scaled down to the approx correct size using MS Word. Finally printed off on printer paper using my ink jet printer. Then folded around the rigging string used for the rope and glued together using watered down PVA glue. Whilst damp it was bent into the shape I required and left to dry. I do this with all my flags so some look like they are flying in the wind or hanging limp in the calm.

  5. Looks great, Phillip! Haven't seen one of these built in a while.

  6. Great work Phillip!
That model is my future project, still in my closet hiding 😀
