I haven't built a model airplane since 1959. I stumbled across an old monogram phantom f-4 j 2 kit in the garage that I purchased 25 years ago ,Most of the pieces are all there but what is most frustrating is it is missing the illustrated instructions would anybody be kind enough to email me those? Looking forward to completing this project and then getting on with some more interesting things. Thanks for your consideration

  1. Hi Ken, welcome to iModeler, you could try two ways of finding the instructions for this old kit. First, go into the database above and see if you can find anyone who has built this kit, you never know, you might be lucky.

Alternatively, try http://www.scalemates.com, they have a database of kits and often have the instructions to download. Hope this helps.

  2. Hi Ken and welcome aboard! Indeed, by consulting the database or Scalemates you will sort yourself out.

  3. Welcome aboard Ken @mambopooch
At Scalemates.com you will likely succeed in finding that manuel. Great that you rediscovered this amazing hobby. Please keep us updated on your build.

  4. As others have mentioned, Scalemates is an excellent resource.

Scroll down to the product timeline and find the boxing that you have, though likely they are all much the same in how they build up. Just below the product timeline there is an "instructions" feild. If there is a green download button (as in the link above), than someone has uploaded instructions from that boxing.

Note that sometimes the older Monogram instructions that scroll left to right on a large folding sheet are sometimes scanned in such a way that you have to be careful in order to stay in sequence. Cheers!

    Good luck and welcome!

  5. I've built many over the years, whichever instructions Scalemates has will work for all the versions, they are essentially the same just different decals

  6. I still have a copy of the instructions. Copyrighted 1981, 1985. Will be in contact shortly via private message
